Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract A fulfilling opportunity awaits educators dedicated to serving students with visual impairments. This contract-based position seeks an onsite teacher for the visually impaired (TVI) to provide support throughout the school year, beginning in early August and concluding in late May. Full-time hours are available, with consideration for part-time scheduling based on candidate preference and caseload discussions during the interview process. Your skills will be matched to student needs to ensure meaningful engagement and impact.
Key Qualifications:
Active Georgia Educator Certificate in Visual Impairment required Proven experience delivering services to students with visual impairments in school settings Comfortable maintaining detailed daily service logs Adaptable and willing to discuss preferred age groups and experience level to determine optimal placement Must be available for onsite work; remote/VOCO positions are not offered for this assignment
Core Responsibilities:
Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments across a range of ages Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' academic and functional goals Develop and implement individualized educational strategies Maintain organized documentation of all services rendered as per district protocol Participate in pre/post planning days as assigned District interview timelines will be confirmed as budget approvals for the upcoming year are finalized, with anticipated interviews scheduled for late June to early July.
