PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Provider Dyslexia Instruction delivers specialized instruction to students identified with dyslexia in accordance with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and the Texas Dyslexia Handbook. Instruction is provided using a TEA-approved, evidence-based, multisensory structured literacy program designed to address the primary characteristics dyslexia.QUALIFICATIONS
EducationCertification:
Bachelor's degree from accredited university or college Valid Texas teaching certificate Special Education Certification preferred, but not required Completion the TEA-approved dyslexia training modules within first year Completion TEA recognized or district approved dyslexia trainingSpecial KnowledgeSkills:
Strong knowledge curriculum and instructional practices In-depth understanding dyslexia and related disorders Expertise in structured literacy instruction Ability to effectively instruct students and manage behavior Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Effective consultation skills for collaboration with teachers, parents, and students Proven ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, colleagues, and supervisors Demonstrated organizational effectiveness Consistent record success in current or prior assignments Thorough understanding documentation and compliance requirements Ability to interpret screening and progress-monitoring dataExperience:
Three years successful teaching experienceMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Instructional Strategies . Develop and implement curriculum plans and maintain documented evidence preparation. . Utilize appropriate instructional strategies, materials, and resources tailored to the needs students with dyslexia. . Maintain service logs, progress reports, and accommodation documentation each reporting period. . Analyze formal and informal data to develop measurable student goals. . Apply multisensory instructional strategies to address individual learning differences. . Support teachers and staff in creating effective learning environments. . Deliver instruction in accordance with TEA guidelines, the Texas Dyslexia Handbook, and district policies. . Ensure instruction is delivered with fidelity to the program model. . Collaborate with teachers to modify curriculum for students with dyslexia. . Contribute data to support dyslexia identification and evaluation processes. . Integrate technology into the teaching and learning process. . Collaborate with staff to plan and implement instructional goals aligned with student's IEP.GOOSE CREEK CISD JOB DESCRIPTION
Provider Dyslexia Instruction-PDI Student Growth and Development . Assist students in developing effective study skills and improving reading abilities. . Regularly assess student progress using formal and informal measures. . Implement and support strategies to improve outcomes for students with dyslexia. . Participate in ARD and meetings as required. Classroom Management and Organization . Establish a classroom environment conducive to learning and student development. . Ensure the safety students, materials, and facilities. Communication . Assist in selecting instructional materials and resources. . Maintain open communication with students, parents, and staff. . Build and sustain professional relationships with the school community. . Communicate information clearly and effectively. Professional Growth and Development . Participate in district professional development opportunities including campus PLCs. . Demonstrate initiative in ongoing professional growth. . Exhibit professionalism, ethical conduct, and responsibility. Policy Implementation . Comply with all state, district, and campus policies and regulations. . Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation. . Attend faculty meetings and serve on committees as required.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
