Pembroke, West Bridgewater, Easton Varies-Depending Upon Need and Availability (ASAP or July 6, 2026) Eleven month schedule: full school-year (183 days / 5 days per week / 7hrs per day) and summer hours (6 weeks / 4 days per week / 7 hours per day). Teacher Aide Salary Schedule ($21-$29/hr depending on experience/qualifications) 1. High School Diploma or equivalent 2. Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorder and students with multiple disabilities preferred 3. Willingness to attend training/in-services with co-workers Learning Center Program Coordinator Staff evaluation will be implemented as outlined in the North River Collaborative Personnel Policies and Procedures Handbook. The North River Collaborative is seeking to hire for multiple teacher assistant positions across our Learning Center Program locations. These positions range from small group to 1:1 support positions serving students with Autism, developmental disabilities, and multiple medical disabilities.A. INSTRUCTIONAL/DIRECT SERVICE
1. Provide support for individual students or small groups of students to reinforce skills. 2. Work as a member of a team with other program staff to provide a consistent program for students in the absence of a staff member. 3. Assist staff in devising special strategies for reinforcing materials or skills based on a sympathetic understanding of individual students, their needs, interests and abilities. 4. Support the planning, preparation and implementation of daily academic, vocational, and life skills activities. 5. Help to maintain an environment to facilitate learning experiences for the students. 6. Assume responsibility for scheduled activities and implementation when a teacher is not present. 7. Implement behavior management programs for students as outlined. 8. Provide crisis intervention when necessary.B. SUPERVISION AND TRAINING
1. Attend and participate in in-service training programs and staff development meetings as directed. 2. Learn specific teaching strategies or skills for instructing individual students when necessary.C. DOCUMENTATION, EVALUATION, AND COMMUNICATION
1. Assist staff in maintaining student attendance records and other data as needed. 2. Abide by program hours and other policies as outlined in the North River Collaborative Personnel Policies and Procedures Handbook.D. HEALTH AND SAFETY
1. Respond to the needs of individual students so as to enhance their social/emotional health and personal development. 2. Respond to situations in a culturally proficient manner taking into account a whole student perspective. 3. With training, is able to apply de-escalation strategies if necessary to prevent a student from harming themselves or others. 4. Able to safely lift students up to 50 lbs independently and assist in lifting students up to 100 lbs. 5. Able to physically assist students during activities such as: toileting, personal hygiene, in/out of adaptive equipment and mechanical lifts, and other self-care tasks as needed. 6. Able to move with reasonable speed and physically assist students during any emergency drills or actual emergencies. 7. Able to safely and effectively participate in restraint training and to safely perform physical escort and restraints as needed once trained. 8. Able to safely and effectively participate in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training if requested and to safely perform CPR as needed once trained.E. ETHICAL
1. Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students. 2. Maintain professional attitudes and productive relationships with other staff and administration. 3. Treat parents and other professionals with respect. 4. Respond constructively to feedback and goal oriented coaching.F. OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED BY THE PROGRAM COORDINATOR
