Team Lead 3.1 3.1 out of 5 stars Hebron, OH 43025 THK Manufacturing of America, Inc. 286 reviews Summary The 2nd Shift Team Lead is responsible for coordinating personnel, managing parts, giving instructions, overseeing production, assisting the Supervisor, and substituting for vacancies. Also, they are responsible for the leadership and supervision of related personnel and matters to produce parts.
Main functions:
parts management, coordinating training, monitoring production and daily operations. Consistently supports key concepts of Q-D-C (Quality, Delivery & Cost). Major Responsibilities Instruction & Communication— Consistently follows & enforces all Company Policies and Procedures. Follows instructions provided by Supervisor/Manager; including other duties as assigned. Communicates and follows up on a timely basis with Management and Members at all levels. Approaches all Members respectfully, demonstrates patience and provides effective constructive feedback to Members. Work Area— Makes sure that the work area is clean and orderly to ensure the safety of each member and efficiency of production. Enforce all safety guidelines. Personnel & Manufacturing Operations— Determines adjustments to be made to manpower or schedules on a daily basis; makes recommendations as needed. Manages operation sheets, standards, and process conditions. Ensures that work is completed within the standard time frame and give instructions accordingly. Assists Supervisor in monitoring attendance and keeps the Supervisor informed. Provides feedback to Supervisor related to members' performance reviews. Addresses complaints and helps resolve problems. Assists Supervisor in determining appropriate action steps, time frames, and resources for achieving the goals/objectives and monitoring measurables.
Operation / Setup
— To maintain high quality within the team, confirms that tool checks (e.g. visual inspections, air pressure, hydraulics, coolant pressure and levels, tools, instrumentation,) are being done prior to operation. Give instructions accordingly. Assists Supervisor with daily team meetings and running daily production. Prioritizing— Confirms the priority of Manufacturing Orders and gives assignments accordingly. Provides feedback. Handling and Transport— Confirms that the team safely and accurately handles and transports materials. Instructs as needed. Operation & Manufacturing Orders— To optimize the efficiency of operations within the department, make detailed assignments of both personnel and manufacturing orders. With the guidance of the Supervisor, initiates changes and improvements (cost effective, increase productivity/increase efficiency, increase quality). Post-process— If a defect occurs within the team, determines the appropriate countermeasures, and under the guidance of the Supervisor, takes the appropriate corrective action steps. Troubleshooting —For issues the Team Leader can resolve, he/she should resolve them and report them to the Production Supervisor. Other issues, consults with the Supervisor. Identifies areas of deficiency and proposes effective countermeasures. Reporting and Records— Evaluates and keeps Management apprised of progress on work; including delays, modifications, and/or problems. Ensures that all pertinent information and conditions are correctly conveyed to the next shift; make and manage documentation (including, but not limited to, Defect Occurrence Reports, Production Reports, Equipment Inspection Sheets, Quality Records, and Problem Logs). Conducts internal audits when assigned and reports findings as appropriate. Maintenance —Evaluates consumables (tools, bits, coolant, etc.) on an ongoing basis and reports any needs to the Supervisor. Training— When necessary, updates and creates operation sheets; develops and implements training schedules; records and verifies training results. Assures training is completed in use of equipment and maintains up to date training records. Facilitates assessment of Members' knowledge, skill and ability by providing accurate, unbiased input. Accurately answers technical questions from Members.
Qualifications:
Incumbents must have the aptitude to acquire the basic skills required for this position within the 3-month orientation period; full understanding of and ability to create documentation (such as records and operation sheets, etc.). Very strong interpersonal skills, the ability to manage/motivate people and communicate effectively to all levels within the company.
Education:
High School Diploma, GED, or higher; vocational school or equivalent experience preferred. Those who have had leadership training are preferred.
Experience:
Machining experience and two years in a Lead or Supervisory position in a manufacturing environment preferred. Area specific and/or process knowledge. Must have experience using Microsoft Office products primarily using Word and Excel.
