Job Description

Georgia Piedmont Technical College is seeking a skilled and student-centered Automotive Technical Instructor to provide high-quality instruction and hands-on training in Automotive Technology. This position is responsible for performing all aspects of instruction for the program while helping prepare students for success in today's automotive industry. This role is ideal for an automotive professional who understands both the technical demands of the field and the importance of developing skilled, safety-conscious, workforce-ready graduates. Key responsibilities include:
Perform all aspects of instruction for the Automotive Technology program. Develop program and course outlines, goals, and objectives. Prepare lesson plans for classroom instruction for credit technical and occupational courses. Evaluate students' progress in attaining course goals and objectives. Request and maintain supplies and equipment, and prepare required budget requests. Maintain program certification requirements, as appropriate. Prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports. Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the automotive training area. Meet with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues impacting student progress. Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Diploma, associate degree, or higher in Automotive Technology or a closely related field from an accredited college or university. Three years of paid work experience as an automotive technician. Current ASE certification in applicable automotive areas. General knowledge of the Automotive Technology program and the automotive service industry. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to use computers and job-related software. Ability to work cooperatively with students, faculty, staff, and industry partners. Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned
