We're more than manufacturing, we're MAT.Job DescriptionThe Technical Trainer Manager is responsible for defining and executing the company's technical training strategy to support employees, customers, and partners. This role leads a team of approximately 12 technical trainers and is accountable for the design, development, and delivery of high-quality training programs across instructor-led, virtual, and self-paced formats.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in the automotive aftermarket—particularly foundation brakes—with strong leadership, communication, and operational discipline. This position plays a critical role in improving product knowledge, technical capability, and overall business performance.
Training Strategy & Program LeadershipDefine and execute a comprehensive technical training strategy aligned with business objectives, product roadmaps, and customer needsEstablish and maintain standardized training processes, documentation, tools, and templatesEnsure all training content remains accurate, current, and aligned with internal standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practicesContent Development & DeliveryOversee the development and maintenance of instructor-led, virtual, and self-paced training materialsServe as a facilitator or subject matter expert for advanced, high-impact, or critical training sessions as neededEnsure consistent, high-quality training delivery across all audiences, regions, and venuesCross-Functional CollaborationPartner closely with Engineering, Product Management, Sales, and Program Management teams to identify training needs and prioritiesIncorporate field feedback, customer insights, and performance data into training content and delivery modelsTeam Leadership & ManagementLead, coach, and develop a team of technical trainers, including onboarding, ongoing development, and performance managementSet goals, conduct performance reviews, and support individual professional development plansProvide coaching on instructional design, presentation effectiveness, and technical depthOperations, Reporting & Financial OversightManage trainer workload distribution, travel requests, and expense reportingCommunicate and enforce company travel and expense policiesDeliver monthly Technical Training department summaries, including:
Financial performance and expensesTrainer scheduling and utilizationCall log insights and field engagement metricsTrainer effectiveness and identified risks or resource conflictsMeasurement & Continuous ImprovementEstablish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure training effectiveness, learner satisfaction, and business impactAnalyze assessment results, performance metrics, and stakeholder feedbackDrive continuous improvement initiatives based on data and customer inputQualifications Proven people leadership and team development capabilitiesStrong understanding of U.S. automotive aftermarket distribution channelsDeep technical knowledge of foundation brake systems and related technologiesExcellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skillsStrong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detailFinancial discipline and comfort managing budgets and expensesProficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and project management toolsQualificationsMinimum of 10 years of experience in technical training, technical support, or related automotive fieldDemonstrated expertise in foundation brake systemsASE certification and/or other relevant technical certifications or technical degree preferred This role offers an exciting opportunity for a Technical professional with a passion for the automotive industry and a keen eye for detail. The posted salary range for this position is $100,000 to $115,000 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.
