Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Agile Consulting Manager / Release Train Engineer (RTE) to lead Agile transformation, program execution, and scaled Agile delivery initiatives. This role will serve as an Agile Subject Matter Expert, partnering with clients and cross-functional teams to improve Agile maturity, establish effective delivery structures, coach teams and leaders, and drive continuous improvement across complex programs and portfolios. Key Responsibilities
- Lead Agile transformation and continuous improvement initiatives across client programs and delivery teams.
- Conduct Agile maturity assessments and develop actionable recommendations to advance Agile adoption.
- Serve as an Agile Subject Matter Expert, defining roles, responsibilities, operating models, and approaches for scaling Agile development.
- Coach teams and stakeholders transitioning from Waterfall to Agile delivery methodologies.
- Structure portfolios and programs by establishing appropriate governance, meeting cadences, communication channels, and delivery practices.
- Coordinate across Agile teams to track progress, resolve impediments, manage dependencies, and provide project oversight.
- Promote Agile values, principles, and practices to improve collaboration, predictability, transparency, and delivery velocity.
- Coach teams using Scrum, Kanban, Pragmatic Agile, and other applicable Agile frameworks.
- Develop Agile roadmaps incorporating Dual-Track Agile, DevOps, Scrum, and Kanban practices.
- Facilitate collaborative short-term and long-term planning with client stakeholders and delivery teams.
- Drive accountability, autonomy, empowerment, and self-directed working practices within Agile teams.
- Perform return-on-investment analysis to understand business challenges and expected outcomes.
- Support strategic discovery initiatives and contribute to the development of business Statements of Work (SOWs).
- Partner with client leadership to establish expectations, communicate delivery priorities, and support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate across Product Management, Agile, Technical Architecture, Engineering, and other functional teams.
- Maintain and monitor Agile delivery metrics, including Sprint-level Burn Up Charts with appropriate scope tracking.
- Provide teams with the knowledge, tools, and training required to independently manage reporting and delivery activities.
- Mentor and coach team members and peers by providing clear and actionable feedback.
- Support professional development and career coaching for team members.
- Lead Agile presentations, training sessions, knowledge-sharing activities, and Agile community initiatives.
- Support thought leadership activities, including presentations, marketing outreach, blogs, and related Agile content.
- Facilitate and manage complex discussions with senior executives and stakeholders.
- Oversee team activities and contribute to improvements in internal processes and delivery workflows.
- Provide senior management with accurate and timely information to support key client and program decisions.
- Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and support account growth. Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of consulting experience with a focus on Agile environments.
- 5+ years of experience working as a Scrum Master.
- 2+ years of experience coaching teams using Scrum and Kanban frameworks.
- SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification.
- Strong experience leading Agile transformations and scaled Agile delivery initiatives.
- Experience coordinating multiple Agile teams, managing dependencies, and resolving delivery impediments.
- Strong understanding of Scrum, Kanban, Agile scaling, DevOps, and Agile delivery practices.
- Experience coaching teams, stakeholders, and leadership on Agile methodologies and mindset adoption.
- Strong leadership, facilitation, mentoring, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
- Ability to effectively facilitate complex discussions with senior executives and client leadership. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading large-scale projects valued at $500K or more.
- Strong understanding and application of servant leadership principles.
- Understanding of engineering practices and their relationship to Agile delivery.
- Experience regularly facilitating training, coaching, and organizational Agile adoption.
- Professional Scrum Master III (PSM III) certification.
- PMI Disciplined Agile Value Stream Consultant (DAVSC) certification.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
