Permanent Director of Analytics Location:
Remote (U.S.) - preference for Central or Eastern Time Zone candidates; West Coast candidates welcome if comfortable with occasional early meetings About the Role This leader will own two major areas: internal analytics and customer-facing data products. On the internal side, the role supports business intelligence across Sales, Go-to-Market, Transactions, Operations, and FP&A, built on Looker dashboards and modern analytics engineering practices. On the customer-facing side, the role owns B2B analytics products delivered directly to business customers, including spend reporting, sustainability reporting, policy compliance and adherence reporting, and travel program analytics. This leader will be responsible for evolving both legacy reporting capabilities and new analytics product development. The company is also investing in natural language and conversational analytics, bringing AI-powered interaction to travel program data. The analytics organization is responsible for the data modeling, SQL development, and semantic layer design that support those AI experiences. This is not a hands-off management role. The organization needs someone who can drive analytics strategy, set the technical roadmap, own architecture discussions, lead modernization efforts, and partner heavily with Product and Executive Leadership, while remaining capable of running SQL in Snowflake, building and understanding Looker models, and participating directly in technical discovery. Time Breakdown:
Half of the role is dedicated to driving technical roadmap and strategy, with a meaningful hands-on component. The other half is leadership, people management, and executive and stakeholder engagement.
What We're Looking For Required:
10+ years of total experience, ideally including a career path from software engineering into analytics engineering and then into leadership, while staying close to tech and AI initiatives 5+ years leading teams, having managed teams of 10 or more people Strong engineering foundation; pure BI analysts are unlikely to be successful in this role Exposure to AI-powered analytics solutions and experience building AI-enabled analytics products Understanding of modern LLM-driven workflows Experience building SaaS platforms Proficiency with Looker, Power BI, SQL, and Snowflake Data modeling expertise, semantic layer modeling, and familiarity with medallion architecture Understanding of the software development lifecycle, Jira, GitHub, and engineering team leadership Nice to

Conversational analytics experience Natural language query and reporting product experience Self-service analytics platform experience Team Structure Reports directly to the EVP of Data, AI, and Engineering Interfaces heavily with the Director of Engineering and the Product team, including the Scrum Master 11 direct reports total: 6 individual contributors in Analytics Engineering & Reporting, plus a Client Reporting function of 4 individual contributors and 1 manager
Compensation & Benefits Base Salary:
Up to $235,000
