  • Posting Country (7)  Job Description Print Preview We are looking for an experienced and proactive ESG Controller to join our Sustainability team.
In this role, you'll own the ESG data integrity, control, and performance integration across Ahlstrom. You will also ensure that our sustainability data is accurate, auditable, and embedded into business decision-making, enabling operational ownership and performance improvement. This is a permanent position based at any Ahlstrom location in Europe, reporting to VP, Sustainability & Public Affairs. We can offer you A position in a truly global company
  • some 7,000 employees spread across 45 worldwide locations Exposure to group‑level accounting, reporting processes and finance systems Continuous learning and development opportunities Flexible working hours An experienced, supportive and professional team Your main tasks and responsibilities: ESG data & control Lead collection, validation, and consolidation of ESG data globally Ensure consistency, accuracy, and traceability of ESG KPIs Establish and maintain strong data control frameworks KPI governance & methodologies Define and standardize ESG KPI definitions and calculation methods Maintain documentation and ensure alignment with reporting requirements Continuously improving data quality and reliability Systems & automation Support implementation and optimization of ESG reporting tools and systems Improve data flows, automation, and reporting efficiency Leverage digital tools and AI-enabled solutions to scale data processes Audit support & compliance Prepare ESG data for audit and assurance processes Ensure compliance with internal controls and external requirements Performance integration Embed ESG data into business processes (e.
g. KPIs, performance reviews) Provide actionable insights on sustainability performance Support data-driven decision-making across operations What we are looking for:
Knowledge & Expertise:
Strong background in controlling, finance, or ESG data management Experience with ESG systems, reporting tools, and data platforms Highly analytical, structured, and detail-oriented Strong capabilities in data governance, automation, and process improvement Collaborative mindset with ability to work across global teams Process & Facilitation Skills Ability to design, facilitate, and lead cross-functional processes, ensuring collaboration between Finance, Operations, R D, HR, and other functions. Experience in driving continuous improvement of reporting systems and tools, including the implementation of digital platforms for sustainability data management. Interpersonal Skills A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization. Ability to influence and drive change in a corporate setting, building alignment and commitment across diverse stakeholder groups. Communication & Analytical Skills Ability to translate complex ESG topics into clear narratives for different audiences Advanced problem-solving and analytical capabilities, with the ability to identify gaps, assess risks, and propose effective solutions.
