The research group of Professor Jiahao Yu at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications for full-time research positions at the Postdoctoral Associate level in AI and Cybersecurity. The preferred start date is 1 February 2027, subject to completion of the appointment process. The group studies the security of artificial intelligence (AI) and the application of AI to cybersecurity. We welcome applicants working in one or more of the following areas: AI security; trustworthy machine learning and interpretability; or applying AI to software security, vulnerability detection, and other cybersecurity domains. Successful candidates will develop and evaluate methods in these research areas, implement experiments, analyze results, and contribute to publications. Postdoctoral Associates will develop research questions, lead studies, and mentor student researchers in collaboration with the principal investigator.
Qualifications:
Postdoctoral Associate applicants must hold a PhD in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field by the start of the appointment and demonstrate the ability to conduct independent research. The candidate must be within 5 years of receiving the Doctoral degree. Applicants should have research experience in at least one of the areas above, strong programming and experimental skills, and clear written and oral communication. Experience with machine learning frameworks, security analysis tools, or both is desirable. Publications and well-documented research software are welcome evidence of research ability.
