Founding Principal Engineer

A venture-backed AI platform company is hiring a Founding Principal Engineer to architect and build a next-generation operational intelligence platform designed to transform how enterprises run their businesses. This cornerstone engineer will be deeply enmeshed in evolving enterprise knowledge system powered by AI agents and human governance. This is a true zero-to-one opportunity for a senior engineering leader who thrives in hands-on development, distributed systems architecture, and production AI infrastructure. The role will drive the technical direction of a platform spanning knowledge graphs, agent orchestration, reinforcement learning workflows, large-scale integrations, and multi-cloud infrastructure. Ideal candidates are deeply technical builders who have previously taken complex AI or data-intensive platforms from concept to production scale and want to shape both the engineering culture and technical foundation from day one. Required Skills & Experience 10+ years of software engineering experience with proven success building and scaling zero-to-one platforms in cloud-native production environments Strong hands-on expertise with Python, distributed backend systems, AI/LLM orchestration, vector databases, knowledge graphs, and modern cloud infrastructure Deep experience designing production-grade architectures using multi-tenant application patterns Desired Skills & Experience Experience building AI agent coordination frameworks, reinforcement learning workflows, or human-in-the-loop AI systems Frontend engineering experience with advanced data visualization tooling Applicants must be currently authorized to work in United States on a full-time basis now and in the future.
