Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a real difference in the academic and social success of students by supporting a young learner in a nurturing elementary environment. As a full-time paraprofessional, you will work one-on-one with a 4th grade student, providing essential guidance and support to help him thrive throughout the school year. This role is ideal for compassionate individuals who are skilled at building trust and fostering positive relationships in educational settings.
Qualifications & Experience:
Active GaPSC Paraprofessional Certification required (or the ability to obtain certification prior to your start date) Previous experience as a paraprofessional or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) highly valued Demonstrated ability to support students with significant social/emotional needs Strong commitment to maintaining student safety and well-being Patience, empathy, and a calm demeanor in high-stress situations Ability to collaborate with teachers, school staff, and family
Role Responsibilities:
Provide individualized, one-on-one support for a 4th grade student throughout the school day Ensure the student's safety at all times, including restroom supervision as needed Implement strategies to assist with internal social/emotional challenges and crisis moments Collaborate with the classroom teacher and other school professionals to adapt support as needed Encourage the student's independence while providing guidance and positive reinforcement Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of student progress and daily activities This contract opportunity offers meaningful work in a supportive school community.
