Job Description:
Join a dynamic engineering team supporting production machine learning pipelines that power inventory and workload insights for store operations. This role offers the opportunity to work in a cloud-native environment, strengthen pipeline reliability, and contribute to meaningful improvements in observability, monitoring, and performance. Responsibilities Support and maintain production ML pipelines that deliver inventory and workload insights Monitor daily workflows and troubleshoot issues to help ensure reliability and SLA adherence Improve the stability, performance, and observability of existing pipelines Develop and enhance monitoring and alerting solutions using cloud-native tools and custom instrumentation Work within a GCP and Vertex AI environment to support pipeline operations and improvements Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and operations partners to resolve issues and implement enhancements Contribute to code changes and operational improvements using GitHub workflows and team standards Skills Strong Python programming skills Working knowledge of PySpark Hands-on experience with GCP services, including Vertex AI, BigQuery, Kubeflow Pipelines, and Cloud Monitoring Familiarity with ML workflow orchestration tools such as KFP, Airflow, or similar platforms Experience monitoring and troubleshooting jobs in distributed cloud environments Understanding of observability practices, including OTEL and custom metrics instrumentation Experience working with GitHub workflows, including pull requests, branching, and code reviews Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with close attention to detail Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset Preferred Skills Experience balancing operational support with targeted development work Background in improving production pipeline reliability and performance Ability to proactively identify opportunities for process or system improvements Comfort working in cross-functional environments with technical and operational partners Horizontal is committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace where all people feel valued, respected, and supported.
