As a Principal Data Scientist for AI, ML & Advanced Analytics within the Steam & Generator, you'll lead the development and deployment of cutting-edge AI and advanced analytics solutions that transform how we work. From building intelligent models and integrating them into enterprise platforms to shaping strategy and mentoring future innovators, you'll be at the forefront of digital transformation, solving complex challenges, accelerating operational excellence, and setting the standard for what's next. How You'll Make an Impact 50% AI & Advanced Analytics Development Design, develop, and deploy advanced AI, Machine Learning (ML), and Large Language Model (LLM) agents and models to address complex business challenges within service operations. Establish operational plans for the entire lifecycle of AI models, from data acquisition and preprocessing to training, validation, and ongoing maintenance. Research and apply emerging data science principles and techniques to create innovative solutions and drive actionable insights from large datasets. Conduct advanced statistical analysis and data mining to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities that inform strategic business decisions. 30% Tooling Systems & Process Integration Lead the development and enhancement of data-driven tooling systems and processes, focusing on TCTP development and S4E integration. Develop and implement new standards and operational plans for data-driven tooling to improve efficiency and align with functional business results. Architect and automate data pipelines and workflows to ensure the reliability and scalability of data processing and analysis. Manage the integration of data science solutions with core business platforms to streamline workflows and improve data accessibility for stakeholders. 20% Mentorship & Knowledge Dissemination Act as a subject matter expert, mentoring colleagues on advanced data tools, programming languages, and analytical methodologies. Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs and documentation to facilitate the rollout and adoption of new data tools and AI-powered solutions. Communicate complex data science concepts and findings effectively to leadership and non-technical stakeholders to guide decision-making. What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field required; Master's degree preferred. 5-8+ years' data science, advanced analytics and AI / ML with expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and predictive modeling. More years of experience may be considered at a higher level. Strong technical proficiency in Python, SQL, data engineering, data visualization, and the development, deployment, and scaling of production-y AI/ML solutions. Tooling Systems & Process Integration highly preferred, but not required Proven ability to mentor and develop technical talent, provide thought leadership, and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. Leading complex analytics initiatives, providing technical direction, and driving implementation from concept through business adoption using Agile methodologies. Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business insights, influence stakeholders at all levels, and optimize workflows through data-driven decision-making.
