Job Description:
Predicine, Inc. in Hayward, CA seeks Bioinformatics Scientist. Perform research and development of novel DNA methylation normalization algorithms, optimize DMFR pipelines, and analyze next-generation sequencing data.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop, test, and optimize vertical and horizontal DNA methylation normalization algorithms, evaluating different mathematical formulas and parameters to improve accuracy and robustness; Validate methylation algorithms and updated DMFR (Differentially Methylated Fragment Regions) pipelines using reference samples and diverse client datasets. Debug, update, and maintain bioinformatics pipelines to ensure reproducible and scalable post-analysis workflows across multiple projects; Design and implement post-pipeline analyses, including generating results, figures, and statistical summaries for client-specific and research-driven projects; Collaborate with wet lab teams to support assay development, validation, troubleshooting, and concordance studies between different sequencing platforms and experimental conditions; and Conduct quality control and statistical analysis for sequencing data, including sensitivity, conversion rates, and comparative assessments to guide experimental and pipeline improvements.
Requirements:
This position requires Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics, or a related field plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or an R D related occupation. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Doctorate degree or foreign equivalent in Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics, or a related field. Must have strong research ability and solid knowledge in developing and validating analytical approaches, interpreting complex biological data, and applying research insights to projects. Any suitable combination of experience of education, training, or experience is acceptable.
