Health Research Center SENIOR Biostatistician (FROM PSPH) - Faculty Department Research Department Reports To Director of Research (with academicreporting to Department Chair) Employment Type Full-Time Faculty Location American University of Antigua, Coolidge Campus Grade Level Assistant/Associate Professor Position Summary The full-time SENIOR faculty position in Biostatistics supports the expanding research andeducation mission of the AUA-Prasanna School of Public Health (PSPH) Health Research Center. The faculty member will primarily contribute toPhD program education, PhD faculty development, and other strategic PhD program initiatives. This role is ideal for a dynamic scholarcommitted to advancing global health through rigorous data science, interdisciplinary collaboration, and translational research, withinteraction with the
AUA-PSPH
PhD program. Key Responsibilities Teaching &Mentorship Deliver biostatistics and research instruction to medical and PhD students. Mentor faculty, medical andPhD students in research design, data analysis, and scholarly writing, mostly and specifically for their dissertation work. Contribute to curriculum fine-tuning in data science, statistics, and implementation science. ResearchSupport Collaborate with medical, PhD students, and medical/PhD faculty on research on study design, methodology,statistical analysis, and manuscript preparation. Provide consultation on quantitative methods for clinical, public health, andtranslational research projects. Center Engagement Support the
AUA-PHSP
Health Research Center'smission to generate climate-responsive, policy-relevant evidence for the PhD program students. Participate in interdisciplinaryresearch initiatives and stakeholder-engaged project design where the PhD students may be involved, if any. GrantDevelopment Assist in the preparation of grant proposals for the PhD students as appropriate and as part of their learningexperience, including statistical plans, power calculations, and data management strategies. Contribute to institutional efforts tosecure external funding for research and education. Scholarly Productivity Maintain an activeportfolio of peer-reviewed publications. Present research findings at academic conferences and policy forums. Qualifications and Experience Doctoral degree in biostatistics. Experience in managing medicaland/or PhD students. Experience in academic administration or research support for PhD programs required. Proficiency withMicrosoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and familiarity with statistical analysis tools such as STATA, SPSS, or R. Strongorganizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to handlesensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
