Responsible for leading complex bioinformatics projects and overseeing data analysis workflows.Essential Functions:
Design and apply novel computational methods/bioinformatics algorithms, machine learning models for building data models and tools using various software and statistical tools to aid in the analysis and interpretation of genetic data, clinical data, and images.- Collaborate with other teams, stakeholders, and external partners on large-scale projects.
- Contribute to the development of bioinformatics strategies and research plans.
- Mentor and train junior analysts or team members.
- Design, maintain, and troubleshoot data processing/software pipelines and data architecture using various computational tools.
- Provide technical expertise and support for bioinformatics tools and software.
- Perform advanced statistical analyses and data integration across multiple datasets.
- Ability to program, such as with Perl/Python.
- SQL proficiency using MySQL and/or SQL Server, as well as knowledge of NoSQL and other DBMS (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Apache CouchDB), is a plus.
- Familiarity with SDLC principles.
- Familiarity with principles of experimental design and modern data analysis paradigms.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff and external contacts.
