Job Description

  • Position:
  • ERP / PeopleSoft Business Analyst (BA)
  • Location:
  • Washington, DC (metro accessible)
  • Duration:
  • 12+ month contract
  • Hybrid:
  • requires 3 days/wk onsite
  • The BA MUST have:
  • + Prior BA
  • experience working in the ERP corporate finance
  • domain. + Prior experience
  • documenting as-is business processes
  • (level 3/ level 4) + Prior experience
  • documenting business requirements
  • for ERP corporate finance business area + Ability to work with multiple stakeholders, create and validate process maps and requirements documents
  • Functional Requirements:
  • + At least 10 years of experience as BA + At least 5 years of BA experience working in ERP process environment. +
  • Prior experience working in PeopleSoft and/or Oracle Fusion ERP environment is a plus
•. + Must have familiarity with common corporate functions within ERP domain such as Account Payable, Expenses, Purchasing, Cash management, and General Ledger. + Prior experience of facilitating and capturing as-is business processes. + Proficiency in various BA requirement elicitation techniques and producing various BA artifacts including business requirements and functional requirements. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Excellent data analysis skills.

Background:
  • company ERP system was built over 20 years back. Since then, the system has grown incrementally through enhancements and bolt-on solutions using PeopleTools as well as additional interfacing systems. Some of these interfacing systems are in-house built .NET applications, and some are commercial COTS/SaaS applications.
  • As part of this project, we are planning to document business processes that span multiple departments and interact with multiple applications/systems

    • The BA will:
    • + Facilitate capturing as-is business processes in Visio swim-lane diagrams.
    + Collect and synthesize input from multiple stakeholders to document as-is processes. + Based on as-is process and system interactions, document high-level as-is business process flows and requirements. + Work with stakeholders for signoffs for process maps and requirements documents. + Work with IT support and technical teams to fill in gaps, supplement business process steps with additional information, or add context to the business processes. + Analyze data through People Query and Oracle database SQL queries to validate certain business rules or business process steps. + Where applicable, ensure company BA standard templates are used, and output is stored in the proper repository.
    • Project Documentation:
    • The BA will produce various artifacts (i.e. as-is process documents, business requirements documents), contribute to overall project status reporting, and provide status of BA work for the assigned activities. The BA will work with team to agree on output format for any BA artifacts and deliver quality output that does not require repeat revisions
