General Description:
MaGrann Associates is an innovative leader in energy efficiency engineering and green building consulting. We are headquartered in Mount Laurel, NJ, with offices in Washington, DC, New York City and Connecticut and operations throughout the Northeast region. This full-time IT & Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst role is a great opportunity for someone starting their career and interested in technology, data, and business. In this position, you will help different teams—such as Operations, Sales, and Management—use data to support their daily work and make better decisions. You'll work with team members to understand their needs, help review how processes work, and assist in creating simple technical solutions. The role includes hands-on tasks such as helping to build and test software, supporting reports and dashboards, and maintaining basic IT systems. You will also help fix system or data issues, make sure data is accurate and easy to access, and support tools that track business performance. This position is ideal for someone eager to learn, enjoys solving problems, and wants to grow in a team-focused IT and data environment.Key Responsibilities:
Assist in gathering and documenting business and system requirements for IT and BI solutions Support the development, testing, and maintenance of applications, reports, and dashboards Help monitor and maintain IT systems, databases, and reporting tools Troubleshoot basic system, data, and reporting issues, escalating when needed Create and update BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using standard tools Assist with data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights to support business decisions Help optimize queries, reports, and data models for performance and usability Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to support reporting and analytics needs Prepare documentation, user guides, and assist with training and ad-hoc reporting requestsQualifications & Skills Required:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or similar hands-on experience). Basic knowledge of at least one programming language (such as Python, Java, C#, or SQL). Understanding of how software is developed (SDLC) and basic database concepts. Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills. Ability to work well with others in a team setting. Clear communication skills and good attention to detail.Qualifications & Skills Preferred:
Some exposure to web development, APIs, or cloud-based tools. Familiarity with Agile or Scrum (even from coursework or projects). Basic understanding of version control tools (like Git). Why Join Us?
