Job SummaryWe are seeking experienced Power BI Engineers to join our Business Intelligence team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards using Power BI, while also contributing to data modelling and semantic layer development in Looker.
You will work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-performance analytics solutions and ensure consistency of business metrics across tools. ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reportsWrite advanced DAX expressions, including time-intelligence functions and complex measuresBuild and maintain robust data models (star schema), relationships, and hierarchiesDevelop and maintain Power Query (M language) transformations for data preparationDesign, develop, and maintain LookML models, views, explores, dimensions, measures, and derived tablesContribute to semantic layer design ensuring reusable, consistent business metrics across BI toolsCollaborate with data engineers to ensure datasets are analytics-ready and well-structuredOptimize performance of dashboards and data models across toolsTroubleshoot issues in reports, datasets, and reporting pipelinesManage Power BI Service (workspaces, deployment pipelines, refresh schedules)Implement data governance, security, and Row-Level Security (RLS)Translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable BI solutionsRequired Skills (Mandatory)Strong hands-on experience in Power BI (dashboarding, DAX, data modelling)Experience with Looker (LookML) or strong understanding of semantic modelling conceptsStrong understanding of data modelling (star schema, relationships, performance optimization)Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and debuggingExperience working across multiple BI tools (Power BI + at least one of Looker/Tableau/Qlik)Experience integrating BI tools with BigQuery, Exasol, or similar data platformsExperience in migrating dashboards/reports across BI toolsUnderstanding of data governance, security, and complianceHands-on experience with JIRA / Agile methodologiesGood to HaveDirect experience with LookML developmentExperience with Tableau or other BI toolsKnowledge of Python or JavaScript for API integrationsExposure to modern data stack (BigQuery, Snowflake, Fabric, etc.)Ideal Candidate ProfileStrong end-to-end ownership (data → model → report → deployment)Experience designing scalable semantic layers and reusable data modelsAbility to adapt across tools (Power BI today, Looker tomorrow)Strong problem-solving and debugging mindsetGood stakeholder communication and business understandingQualifications5+ years of experience in BI / Data AnalyticsBachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalentEquinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
