Summary Key Required Skills:
SME on Tableau BI Dashboard development, Data Management & Analysis. Strong proficiency in Tableau Desktop and SQL PostgreSQL preferred) and NoSQL database (Mongo DB preferred) querying. Must be available for onsite interview in Woodlawn, MD 21244.Position Description:
1. Dashboard Development a. Develop and enhance Tableau dashboards in enterprise environments b. Modify and extend existing reporting solutions. c. Utilize advanced Tableau Desktop features (parameter actions, LOD expressions, relationships/joins, complex interactions, custom visualizations). d. Design intuitive, visually clean, and story-driven dashboards focused on user experience e. Translate loosely defined requirements into polished, functional dashboards with minimal oversight 2. Data Management & Analysis a. Write and optimize SQL queries, especially in PostgreSQL environments b. Work with messy or imperfect data; identify and resolve data quality issues c. Troubleshoot and resolve Tableau performance issues (workbook optimization, calculations, filters, queries) 3. Testing & Quality Assurance a. Deliver accurate, thoroughly tested, and low-defect dashboards b. Perform dashboard testing, validation, and bug fixing, preferably in Agile/Scrum environments c. Follow written technical requirements and implementation instructions with minimal rework 4. Documentation & Communication a. Document dashboard changes, testing results, and technical implementation details b. Communicate proactively regarding risks, blockers, and implementation considerations c. Manage multiple enhancement requests, defects, and ad hoc analysis tasks efficientlySkills Requirements:
Foundation for Success (Basic Qualifications)- 7+ years of experience with analysis, design and developing systems using skills identified in this requirement. Factors To Help You Shine (Required Skills)
- Selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain public trust clearance
- Selected candidate must be willing to work on-site in Woodlawn, MD 5 days a week
- Master's and 5+ years of experience, Bachelor's and 7+ years of experience or 13+ years in lieu of a degree
- Demonstrated experience with Tableau dashboard development and enhancement
- Strong proficiency in Tableau Desktop and SQL (PostgreSQL preferred) and NoSQL database (Mongo DB preferred) querying
- Experience with dashboard UX/UI principles and data quality troubleshooting
- Experience in Agile/Scrum development environments
- Experience in translating loosely defined requirements into polished, functional dashboards with minimal oversight
- Strong experience writing and optimizing SQL queries, especially in PostgreSQL environments
- Excellent Communication skills How To Stand Out From The Crowd (Desired Skills)
- Familiarity with Snowflake or cloud data warehouse concepts
- Experience in government or public-section Agile environments
- Tableau Certification(s) Employers have access to artificial intelligence language tools ("AI") that help generate and enhance job descriptions and AI may have been used to create this description.
