Business Intelligence Manager (Power BI)Company OverviewWe are located in northern Dallas, TX, and we are a cutting-edge healthcare technology and pharmaceutical company. We have been innovating the pharmaceutical industry for over 25 years and have become one of the most well-known and widely used companies in our space. We work with the latest/greatest technology and AI tools, and we are looking for a Director to join our team!

Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Manager with deep expertise in Power BI and SQL to lead our BI team and deliver actionable, high-quality analytics. The role is responsible for designing and implementing scalable BI solutions, owning the end-to-end analytics lifecycle (requirements, data modeling, ETL, reporting and governance), and partnering with business stakeholders to drive data-informed decisions across the organization.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design, development and delivery of Power BI reports, dashboards and visualizations that provide clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.

Own the end-to-end BI lifecycle: requirements gathering, data modeling (tabular/Power Pivot), ETL orchestration, tabular modeling, testing and deployment.

Write and optimize complex SQL and T-SQL queries; design and maintain data models that support performant reporting and analytics.

Architect, develop and maintain data pipelines and warehouse solutions using SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Snowflake or BigQuery as appropriate.

Establish and enforce BI governance, metadata management and master data management (MDM) practices to ensure data quality, consistency and security.

Define, document and maintain KPIs and dashboard standards; work closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into measurable metrics and reports.

Implement CI/CD and source control for BI artifacts using Git and Azure DevOps; manage deployments and release processes for BI content.

Monitor and tune performance across data models, queries and reports; proactively address scaling and performance issues.

Integrate diverse data sources including REST APIs, cloud databases and third-party systems; oversee data integration and transformation processes.

Lead, mentor and grow a team of BI developers and analysts; manage priorities, conduct reviews and support professional development.

Promote adoption of BI solutions through training, documentation, and stakeholder engagement; support self-service analytics where appropriate.

Collaborate with data science teams to enable analytics and prototype ML/advanced analytics solutions using Python/R when needed.

Evaluate new BI/analytics technologies and propose improvements to our analytics platform and architecture.

Ensure compliance with data security, privacy and regulatory requirements in collaboration with IT and compliance teams.

QualificationsBachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Business Intelligence, with demonstrable experience building Power BI solutions and writing SQL; at least 2 years in a people or project leadership role.

Strong, practical expertise in Power BI, including DAX and Power Query (M), and experience designing semantic/tabular models and Power Pivot solutions.

Proven ability to design and optimize relational and analytical data models, with solid T-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server or Azure SQL Database experience.

Experience building and maintaining data warehouses and ETL processes (SSIS, Azure Data Factory) and working knowledge of SSAS and SSRS.Familiarity with cloud data platforms and tools such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, Snowflake and/or BigQuery.

Working knowledge of data integration patterns, REST API integration, and orchestration of pipelines for reliable data delivery.

Experience with data governance, metadata management, master data management (MDM) and data quality practices.

Hands-on experience with source control (GIT), Azure DevOps and implementing CI/CD for BI deployments; comfortable in Agile/SCRUM environments.

Basic familiarity with Python or R and foundational machine learning concepts to support analytics initiatives.

Strong stakeholder management, requirements gathering, communication and documentation skills; ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Experience with dashboarding, KPI design, data visualization best practices and user-centered design for analytics.

Nice-to-have certifications: Microsoft Data Analyst / Azure Data Engineer, SnowPro or equivalent cloud/data certifications.
