The Chief Engineer must possess the ability to train in all areas of property operations, lead in efficiency and effective operation of all mechanical equipment, enforce departmental productivity, and enforce company's policies. The Chief Engineer often performs many of the duties assigned to the maintenance team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities -The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Lead, direct, and work with maintenance team. Provide field support, if necessary, to assist maintenance team. Must be able to follow company's procedures for ordering and receiving parts and materials. Must effectively follow preventative maintenance procedures. Must be proficient in the operation of maintenance software. Access information from the energy management system, utilize commands to obtain information, and reset equipment for proper operation. Conduct training classes and keep records of training. Review all assigned preventive maintenance work orders and scheduled work orders. Perform general maintenance, preventive maintenance, and other duties as assigned by Regional Chief Engineer while complying with safety, quality, and brand standards. Maintain proper plant operations regarding specified equipment operating procedures and accurate shop logs. Review shop log daily to maintain knowledge of department activities. Conduct any mechanical repairs as assigned and coordinated by department managers and the General Manager. Coordinate with Regional Chief Engineering on expenditures or supplies that are needed for PM's and scheduled work orders/projects. Get approval from the GM. Complete all assigned tasks in a timely manner, while maintaining safety requirements. Properly follow-up on all rescheduled work due to lack of material, time, or manpower. Maintain constant working knowledge of Engineering procedures, plant operations, and proper response requirements. Comply at all times with company's standards and regulations to encourage a safe working environment. Provide the highest quality of service and maintain a positive attitude towards guests and team members when performing assigned duties. Must be able to resolve problems in a quick and efficient manner.
Required Skills/Abilities:
At least 5 years in hospitality or related building maintenance environment. At least a 2-year certification from a Technical School or a College Degree in Engineering regimens. Must possess the CFC license and Stationary Engineer's license-grade to be determined on Authority issuing license. Excellent interpersonal skills; English speaking, reading, and writing skills. Multi-task oriented. Knowledge of workplace safety procedures.
