Austin, Texas (opens in new tab) Posted 17 hours ago Join our dynamic team as a seasoned leader responsible for pioneering development and integration of state-of-the-art orthopedic technologies. You will provide comprehensive leadership from initial concept through product commercialization, particularly focusing on innovative augmented reality navigation and the fusion of navigation with robotic systems. Your expertise will guide execution across multiple engineering disciplines, translating clinical needs into impactful medical technologies.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Leading as the principal technical expert in multidisciplinary enabling technologies, formulating and directing system architecture, interfaces, and essential system functionalities.
  • Spearheading the translation of clinical concepts into complete and market-ready medical devices while defining subsystem interactions and performance benchmarks.
  • Collaborating across various functions such as Clinical, Product Management, and Manufacturing to ensure that technical architectures align with business and clinical objectives.
  • Guaranteeing adherence to crucial regulatory and quality standards throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Identifying and managing technical risks while implementing robust mitigation strategies and overseeing key validation and usability processes.
  • Mentoring and guiding engineering teams to promote a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
  • Exploring and assessing cutting-edge technologies in augmented reality, AI, sensors, and automation for inclusion in future product offerings.
  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
  • At least 6 years of progressive experience in the development of medical devices or similar technology products.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading multidisciplinary engineering projects.
  • Proficient in systems engineering and capable of integrating software, electronics, and mechanical components.
  • Understanding of medical device design controls and lifecycle management.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • A Master's degree in a technical discipline.
  • Experience in developing surgical robotics or image-guided systems.
  • Proficiency in areas like computer vision, sensor fusion, and mechatronics.
