CNC Lathe Machinist / Programmer Halfab, Inc. is a precision machine shop that has been serving the electronics, medical, semiconductor, R D, and specialty manufacturing industries since 1991. We specialize in producing high-quality precision-machined components and assemblies. We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist / Programmer who can independently program, set up, and run CNC lathes. This position is best suited for a skilled machinist who is comfortable taking a job from print to finished part with minimal supervision. Responsibilities Independently program, set up, and operate CNC lathes Read and interpret complex blueprints, drawings, and specifications Program CNC lathe operations using Mastercam Select proper tooling, inserts, speeds, feeds, and machining strategies Set work offsets, tool offsets, and establish proper setups Machine parts to required dimensions and tolerances Inspect your own work using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators, and other precision measuring equipment Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, and program issues Make program and offset adjustments as necessary Fabricate fixtures and work-holding devices when required Maintain consistent part quality throughout production runs Work efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of CNC lathe setup and machining experience Must be able to set up and run CNC lathes independently CNC programming experience Mastercam experience Strong blueprint-reading skills Ability to understand dimensions, tolerances, and GD&T Proficient with precision measuring and inspection equipment Strong understanding of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and machining practices Ability to troubleshoot problems without relying on constant supervision Dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to producing quality work Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of CNC lathe experience Experience programming CNC lathes from solid models and/or prints Experience machining a variety of materials, including aluminum, stainless steel, steel, brass, copper, and plastics Experience working with close-tolerance precision parts Experience in a job-shop or low-volume/high-mix machining environment What We're Looking For We are specifically looking for an experienced machinist—not an entry-level operator .
