Job Description

Robotics Controls Engineer responsible for programming, configuring, integrating, testing, and commissioning ABB robotic welding systems and associated automation equipment. Job Requirements Experience programming and configuring ABB OmniCore robot controllers. Experience integrating robotic welding systems. Experience programming or configuring SBI weld power supplies. Experience with HMI programming and configuration. Experience with Keyence Laser Profilers or laser seam-tracking systems. Experience integrating laser seam tracking with ABB robotic controllers. Experience loading and validating system software onsite. Experience performing final development, testing, and troubleshooting of automated systems. Ability to support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT). Ability to support Site Acceptance Testing (SAT). Ability to travel for onsite testing and commissioning activities. Preferred Skills Experience with ABB robotic welding applications. Experience with Keyence safety controllers. Experience interfacing safety controller signals with ABB robot controllers. Experience with automated weld process development. Experience working from electrical schematics, assembly drawings, Bills of Materials, flow diagrams, and process descriptions. Experience commissioning robotic automation systems in manufacturing environments. Job Responsibilities Program and configure ABB OmniCore controllers for automated welding applications. Configure SBI weld power supplies to support required weld processes. Develop and configure HMI applications for system operation and monitoring. Integrate Keyence Laser Profilers for seam-tracking applications. Interface external safety controller signals with ABB robot controllers. Support integration of laser seam-tracking systems with robotic controls. Load system programming onsite and perform final development activities. Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and software validation. Support customer-witnessed Factory Acceptance Testing. Support Site Acceptance Testing at customer facilities. Review electrical schematics, assembly drawings, BOMs, flow diagrams, and process documentation prior to implementation. Support final system commissioning and acceptance activities.
