SMT / AOI

& Conformal Coating Programmer - Trainee to join our electronics manufacturing team. This position is designed for a candidate with a strong background in electronics manufacturing, SMT operations, quality inspection, automation, equipment maintenance, or a related technical field who is interested in developing advanced machine programming skills. Direct programming experience with SMT, AOI, or conformal coating equipment is preferred but not required . Machine-specific training will be provided to the right candidate. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with computers and manufacturing equipment, understands PCB assembly processes, has strong troubleshooting skills, and is eager to learn how to create, modify, verify, and optimize production programs. Key Responsibilities Learn to create, modify, and optimize programs for SMT, AOI, and conformal coating equipment . Perform machine setup, changeovers, program loading, and production preparation. Support SMT feeder setup and component verification. Review and interpret BOMs, PCB assembly drawings, work instructions, component reference designators, and manufacturing documentation . Verify component placement, orientation, polarity, and first-piece assemblies. Assist with AOI programming, inspection criteria, defect identification, and reduction of false calls. Identify common PCB assembly and soldering defects. Troubleshoot machine, programming, placement, and inspection issues. Enter and modify machine coordinates, parameters, paths, speeds, and other process settings. Support conformal coating programming, including coating paths, masking requirements, keep-out areas, spray/dispense parameters, coating coverage, and curing requirements. Verify new or modified programs before release to production. Document machine settings, programming changes, troubleshooting activities, and results. Work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams. Support continuous improvement activities related to machine performance, quality, and production efficiency. Follow company safety, quality, ESD, and manufacturing procedures. Minimum Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, SMT operations, PCB assembly, quality inspection, automation, equipment maintenance, or a related technical environment. Good computer and software skills. Basic understanding of electronic components, PCB assembly, polarity, and reference designators. Ability to read and understand BOMs, assembly drawings, work instructions, and technical documentation. Strong mechanical and technical aptitude. Logical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to accurately document work and follow established procedures. Ability and willingness to learn multiple machines and manufacturing processes. Good communication and teamwork skills. Reliable, patient, and comfortable testing and optimizing machine programs. Preferred Qualifications Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: SMT machine operation, setup, or programming SMT feeders and machine changeovers First Article Inspection (FAI) or first-piece verification AOI operation or programming PCB quality inspection Conformal coating equipment

standards Electronics troubleshooting Process or manufacturing engineering Automation, robotics, or industrial equipment Gerber, centroid, or PCB manufacturing files An Associate Degree, technical diploma, or certification in Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation, Robotics, Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred but not required when the candidate has relevant hands-on manufacturing experience. What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who enjoys understanding how and why equipment works , not simply operating a machine. The successful candidate should be comfortable troubleshooting problems, learning new software, working with machine parameters and coordinates, interpreting PCB documentation, and carefully verifying a process before releasing it to production. Candidates with strong SMT, AOI, electronics, quality, or equipment experience who have not previously programmed all of these machines are encouraged to apply. Training will be provided to candidates who demonstrate strong technical fundamentals and programming aptitude. Salary Negotiable.
