Position Overview Benson Stone Company is seeking a skilled CAD programmer to help manufacture granite & quartz countertops in our state-of-the-art shop. The programmer will be responsible for creating and modifying drawings to efficiently lay out the cutting path on the selected slabs to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will have AutoCAD experience and/or experience with other CAD/CAM software. This is a full-time, hourly, weekday position. Occasional Saturdays may be required, but the shop is closed Sundays and most major holidays. Responsibilities Create and modify CAD drawings for granite countertops according to client specifications, architectural plans, and shop drawings. Use SlabSmith and AlphaCam software to program CNC machines to cut and shape granite countertops. Lay out the pieces on selected slabs to ensure maximum yield and minimal waste. Work collaboratively with designers, installers, and production staff to ensure the accuracy and feasibility of designs. Manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines. Review and approve final CAD drawings before fabrication and installation. Maintain accurate records of design changes and modifications. Qualifications Proficiency in AutoCAD, AlphaCam, Slabsmith, or similar CAD/CAM software. Experience in drafting and designing architectural plans or kitchen and bath layouts. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of the granite industry and fabrication techniques is a plus. Experience programming CNC machines is also a plus.
