CAD Programmer

CNC Programmer -

Industrial Sheet Metal Position Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled CNC Programmer with experience in the industrial metal fabrication. This role involves programming CNC machines to fabricate sheet metal components, enclosures, brackets, and other custom metal parts with precision and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Interpret construction drawings, flat patterns, and engineering specs to determine tooling and machine setup Collaborate with design engineers, project managers and shop floor personnel to ensure manufacturability and minimize waste Create and optimize CNC programs using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SigmaNEST, or similar) Program and support CNC laser cutters Perform test runs and adjust programs for material thickness, bend allowances, and machine capabilities Maintain documentation of programs, setups, and revisions for traceability and repeatability Recommend tooling and process improvements to enhance throughput and reduce scrap

Qualifications:

Proficiency in CAD software, preferably specific to metal fabrication Strong understanding of sheet metal properties, bend calculations, and fabrication techniques Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in metalworking environments Effective communication and teamwork skills 2+ years of CNC programming experience in a sheet metal or fabrication setting preferred

Work Environment:

Industrial fabrication shop with exposure to machinery, metal, and noise Requires standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs PPE and adherence to safety protocols required

Pay:

$30.99 - $37.32 per hour
