Job Description

Epic Interfaces Programmer (Bridges/Rhapsody) The Epic Interfaces Programmer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining technical solutions that support Epic and integrated systems across Med Center Health. Specializing in Epic Bridges and the Rhapsody Integration Engine, this position builds and maintains secure, reliable, and scalable interfaces between Epic and third-party systems. The Epic Interfaces Programmer develops custom scripts, data extracts, routing logic, mappings, and reporting solutions using HL7, FHIR, CDA, and other healthcare interoperability standards. This position works closely with Epic Application Analysts, Information Technology teams, vendors, and operational stakeholders to translate business and workflow requirements into efficient technical solutions that support data integrity, workflow automation, public health reporting, and organizational modernization initiatives. Minimum Qualifications Associate s or bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required. Previous experience in programming, systems integration, software development, or healthcare information technology required. Hands-on experience building, configuring, or maintaining healthcare interfaces using Epic Bridges and the Rhapsody Integration Engine desired. Knowledge of HL7 v2.x message structures, segments, and data types required. Experience implementing FHIR APIs, CDA documents, or similar healthcare interoperability solutions required. Experience troubleshooting interface failures, connection interruptions, message validation errors, and other integration issues required. Knowledge of healthcare data workflows, interoperability standards, and applicable privacy and security requirements, including HIPAA and HITECH, required. Epic training and certification in the Bridges application required. Employees who are not certified at the time of hire or transfer must complete the designated Epic training and certification program(s) within the assigned timeframe for their role and/or assigned application(s). Certification exams must be successfully completed within three attempts. Training and certification expenses are provided by Med Center Health in exchange for a work commitment.
