Job Overview The International Union, UAW is seeking a skilled
SYSTEMS ANALYST/IT TECHNOLOGY PROGRAMMER.
This role provides IT support in a Windows/Linux environment for the employees of the UAW, primarily at the Solidarity House location in addition to any off-site activities when applicable. This position will work with other UAW staff, building visitors and affiliates. Key Responsibilities Providing the International Union, UAW with IT support, working in a multi-platform environment primarily Windows and Linux based Programming, Script Writing Managing and updating data received and created from disparate sources and APIs Database Managing Maintaining confidentiality of any UAW related information. Understand the UAW's function and protocol. Assist & coordinate communication with various departments as needed. Availability to assist as requested on any special projects, assignments or events that involve International Union, UAW staff members including instances outside of normal working hours and location. Know, interpret, and apply organizational policies, procedures, and protocols. Retrieve information quickly, utilizing internal and external data resources. Required Qualifications Possess Administrative and Organizational skills & Programming experience. Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to multitask efficiently, meet deadlines & complete administrative projects. PHP scripting language a must. Informix 4GL database programming language is preferred. Shell scripting such as Bash and PowerShell.
Databases:
Knowledge of SQL; Experience with MySQL & Informix SQL preferred. Understanding of web technology including HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, and CSS. Proficient in MS Office Systems. Associate's degree, BA preferred. Cloud migration experience a plus Positive attitude with excellent communication and interpersonal skills Previous experience working in organized labor environment preferred. Commitment to confidentiality and discretion Highly motivated and a self-starter Ability to learn department specific software as needed (training will be provided)
