Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Waterjet Programmer/Operator to join our production team in Cincinnati, OH. This dynamic, hands-on role combines machine setup and operation with basic CAD/CAM layout work to process high-precision parts. The ideal candidate will bring strong machining fundamentals, standard G-code or CAM software knowledge, and a team-first mindset to keep daily production running efficiently. Key Responsibilities Set up, program, and operate the Waterjet machine to process precision components within tight engineering tolerances. Perform part alignment, work offset adjustments, tooling selection, and material loading on the shop floor. Utilize basic 2D CAD/CAM software to review drawings, generate toolpaths, and optimize machining layouts for maximum efficiency. Perform standard preventive maintenance, tooling care, and routine operational upkeep on assigned equipment. Conduct quality inspections on finished parts using standard precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges). Collaborate with shop leadership and neighboring production teams to maintain steady workflow and resolve fabrication challenges. Requirements Direct experience programming, setting up, and operating Waterjet machines in a job-shop or manufacturing environment. Practical ability to perform part layouts and make manual code or program adjustments at the machine control or workstation. Strong blueprint reading skills and attention to dimensional detail. Mechanical aptitude with a hands-on approach to routine machine care and minor troubleshooting. Physical ability to work on an active shop floor, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with 2D CAD/CAM drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or generic CAM packages). Experience operating diverse multi-axis machine platforms (mills, lathes, or advanced profile machinery). Ability to work independently with minimal supervision from drawing to finished component.
