Job Description

Role:
AS400 (IBM i) Programmer / Subject Matter Expert (SME) Minimum hours per week guaranteed: Minimum 40 hours per week
Contract Length:
3-6 months to start (with potential for extension)
Remote:
Preference for local consultants who can work onsite 3 days per week. Open to hybrid arrangements for highly qualified candidates. Skill Set Needed - 6+ years of hands-on experience developing and supporting IBM i (AS400/iSeries/Power i) environments. Strong programming expertise with RPGLE, CL, SQL, and DB2 for i. Experience maintaining and modernizing legacy AS400 applications while developing new solutions. Strong DB2 database administration and development experience, including database design, optimization, and performance tuning. Manufacturing ERP experience is required. Experience supporting ERP systems in a manufacturing environment, including troubleshooting production issues. Experience with IBM i user administration, security, permissions, and system maintenance. Ability to develop SQL queries for reporting, data extraction, and business analysis. Experience supporting manufacturing floor systems and business-critical applications. Knowledge of EDI integrations and troubleshooting is highly preferred.

Basic PC, networking, and infrastructure support experience. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and communicate effectively across technical and business teams.
