Opti Staffing is partnering with a leading manufacturer of high-quality, custom-machined components serving industries including aerospace, defense, medical, and electronics . This is a clean, professional, and collaborative shop environment that values precision, innovation, and employee growth. We're looking for an experienced CNC machinist who can step into a hands-on leadership role and help drive machining operations forward.

What You'll Do:

You'll serve as the technical lead on the machining floor while remaining hands-on with programming, setups, troubleshooting, and production. Programming & Setup Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for multi-axis mills and lathes Program using Mastercam, SolidWorks, and G-code Perform setups on 3• 4• and 5-axis CNC equipment Design and improve fixtures and tooling for efficient setups Lead setups for critical and complex jobs Standardize processes to improve setup times, consistency, and quality Floor Leadership Lead and supervise a small team of machinists Assign jobs and monitor production progress Ensure production and quality targets are met Train, mentor, and support machinists Serve as the technical resource for the machining department Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement Quality & Efficiency Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, CMMs, and other precision measuring equipment Ensure finished components meet engineering drawings and GD&T requirements Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues Collaborate with engineering and leadership to improve machining strategies Monitor machine upkeep and maintenance schedules Identify opportunities to improve shop efficiency and processes What's In It for

Have:

10+ years of CNC machining, programming, and setup experience Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a machine shop Strong proficiency with Mastercam, SolidWorks, and G-code Experience programming both milling and turning operations Experience with 3• 4• and 5-axis CNC machines Strong understanding of tooling, materials, feeds, speeds, and precision machining Ability to read and interpret technical drawings Strong understanding of GD&T Excellent organizational and communication skills Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities

The Musts:

Hands-on experience with 3• 4• and 5-axis CNC machining Strong CNC programming and setup background Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and mentor machinists High standards for quality, safety, and efficiency Ability to remain hands-on while leading the machining floor

Preferred:

Aerospace, defense, medical, or electronics manufacturing experience Experience with complex or tight-tolerance components Experience implementing process improvements CMM inspection experience Experience designing fixtures and specialized tooling
