Stellar Solutions is seeking a Journeyman / Senior Software Lead and Integration Manager to lead a cross-functional U.S. Space Force team developing mission-focused software solutions supporting U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy end users. This role combines scientific and software expertise to evaluate physics-based concepts, design and test software, and deliver integrated end-to-end capabilities. The position requires technical depth across RF and space weather concepts, hands-on software development expertise, and the leadership skills to align scientific objectives with scalable software solutions. Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications The Journeyman / Senior Software Lead and Integration Manager will lead physicists, systems engineers, and software developers in the development and integration of software supporting operational mission needs. The role requires the ability to translate complex scientific requirements into effective software solutions while remaining hands-on in code development and review across the technology stack. Success requires strong technical leadership, cross-functional coordination, clear communication, and the ability to drive outcomes in a dynamic, mission-focused environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead a cross-functional team of physicists, systems engineers, and software developers in the development and integration of mission-focused software. Evaluate physics-based concepts and translate scientific needs into scalable software solutions. Design, develop, integrate, and test end-to-end software capabilities supporting U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy end users. Apply knowledge of radio frequency, electromagnetic spectrum, and space weather concepts to software development and integration activities. Read, develop, and review code across the software stack using applicable programming languages and frameworks. Coordinate activities and drive outcomes across science, software, hardware, and systems engineering teams. Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineering and science personnel. Communicate complex scientific and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Align software development activities with scientific objectives, system needs, and mission priorities. Identify opportunities to improve software, processes, integration approaches, and overall team effectiveness. Proactively identify technical challenges and help develop solutions before they affect program execution. Required Qualifications 6+ years of experience leading or contributing to highly technical software development and integration efforts involving cross-functional science, software, hardware, or systems engineering teams. Experience with scientific concepts related to radio frequency, the electromagnetic spectrum, or space weather. Experience with full-stack software development. Experience communicating with technical and non-technical audiences at varying levels. Experience leading highly technical teams. Ability to read and program in Python, JavaScript, or C/C++. Ability to work with frameworks and interfaces such as React, Angular, REST, or GraphQL. Ability to coordinate and drive outcomes across cross-functional teams including science, software, hardware, and systems engineering. Bachelor's degree in a STEM field such as Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics. Desired Qualifications Experience with radar systems or radar modeling and signal processing. Experience working with Kubernetes or software factories. Experience with requirements analysis. Ability to run and evaluate complex simulation frameworks. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Master's degree in Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering. Doctorate degree in Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering. Ability to obtain a Security+ certification within two months of hire. Clearance & Additional Requirements Secret clearance TS/SCI clearance preferred Ability to work onsite at Peterson Space Force Base Location This position is full-time, on site in Colorado Springs (Peterson SFB) Compensation The typical salary range for this position is USD $120,000 - $141,000 per year. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a comprehensive total rewards package that includes an annual performance bonus, an employer-funded Profit-Sharing Plan (PSP) contribution based on base compensation, and comprehensive employer-paid medical benefits, PTO pay-out options, along with additional company-sponsored benefits. All of these benefits represent an additional 30-40% to your base compensation for a total compensation package. Deliverable(s) Deliverables will be in the format of reports, briefings, spreadsheets, or other documents as directed by the Government, using government approved and/or mandated systems/software and processes governed by guidance/instructions/policy or direction.
