Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Access Control Systems Administrator to support and maintain electronic access-control systems across campus facilities. This position is responsible for managing the technology that connects electronic door hardware, credentials, control panels, and centralized security management software. The ideal candidate will have experience with access-control systems, network-connected security devices, user permissions, system monitoring, and troubleshooting. This role works closely with IT, security, and facilities to ensure authorized personnel have appropriate access while maintaining accurate security records and system availability. Required Qualifications Experience administering or supporting electronic access-control or physical security systems. Understanding of computer networking and network-connected security devices. Experience managing user accounts, permissions, and access privileges. Familiarity with directory services such as Active Directory. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work with both software and physical/electronic hardware. Strong attention to detail, particularly when managing security permissions and access records. Ability to work effectively with IT, security, facilities, and other departments. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting access-control systems in a university, healthcare, government, utility, or other large institutional environment. Experience with Lenel, S2, Genetec, Avigilon, Brivo, HID, Gallagher, or similar access-control platforms. Knowledge of electronic locks, card readers, badge systems, door controllers, and related hardware. Experience integrating physical security systems with Active Directory or other identity-management platforms. Familiarity with security cameras, alarm systems, or other physical security technologies. Experience with system upgrades, installations, and vendor coordination.
