Job Description
Overview The IT Technician I provides entry-level technology support to hospital staff. This position serves as a first point of contact for basic IT issues, including computer, printer, login, and software problems. The technician will answer support requests, document issues, perform basic troubleshooting, and assist with resolving problems or escalating them to the appropriate IT team member. This is a good opportunity for someone who is dependable, customer-service focused, and willing to learn. Responsibilities Answer and document IT support requests from hospital staff. Provide basic troubleshooting for computers, printers, phones, monitors, keyboards, mice, scanners, and other common equipment. Assist users with login issues, password resets, and basic software questions. Help set up workstations, move equipment, and replace basic hardware. Follow IT department procedures for documenting and escalating tickets. Communicate clearly and professionally with hospital staff. Protect confidential information and follow hospital privacy and security policies. Learn hospital systems, support processes, and basic torubleshooting steps. Assist IT staff with projects, equipment inventory, and other department tasks as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Basic computer knowledge required. Good communication and customer service skills. Dependable, professional, and willing to learn. Ability to follow instructions and document work clearly. Ability to lift and move basic computer equipment. Prior IT, customer service, or office experience is helpful but not required. Preferred, But Not Required Experience with Microsfot Windows, Google Workspace and associated applications. Recent or current coursework in IT, computer science, networking, cybersecurity, or a related field. CompTIAA+, Google IT Support Certificate, Microsoft Fundamentals, or similar training. Experience troubleshooting computers, printers, phones, or software. Experience in a hospital, clinic, or customer service environment. Experience with NEC SV8500 or other phone systems.
