The Opportunity The Computer Technician Level II (CTEC) is a mid-level, hands-on role responsible for building, configuring, and troubleshooting computer systems and network devices. You will work with increased independence, apply intermediate technical expertise, and collaborate across IT, Engineering, and Operations to keep builds and internal technology running smoothly. This position supports production builds, internal technology needs, and cross-functional operational success. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and service-minded, balances speed with quality and communicates clearly while documenting work and contributing to continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities- Assemble, configure, and test computer systems, servers, and network devices for production builds and internal use.
- Troubleshoot and repair hardware, network, and software issues; document root cause and resolution.
- Install and update software, including imaging, firmware updates, and security patches.
- Create and maintain build and service documentation to support production and product changes.
- Provide intermediate end-user IT support with a strong customer-service mindset.
- Mentor and support Level I technicians through technical guidance and review of work.
- Assist with technology upgrades, migrations, and other departmental projects.
- Support shipment preparation as needed (e.g., final checks, packaging support, documentation).
- Communicate effectively with Engineering, IT, and Operations to coordinate priorities and resolve issues.
- Identify and recommend process and infrastructure improvements.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2-4 years of relevant IT and/or technical experience.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and execute small projects or workstreams.
- Working knowledge of operating systems (Windows and Linux/Unix).
- Experience with computer imaging and system configuration. Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Bachelor's degree.
- CompTIA A+ (or equivalent).
- PC Hardware Professional (PCHP) or similar certification.
- Experience mentoring or training junior technicians. Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work at a bench/workstation for extended periods. Compensation & Benefits
- $27-$29 per hour (non-exempt), based on experience, skills, and certifications.
