Position Summary:
The Technical Support Specialist I
  • plays a key role as a strategic business partner responsible for file movement and management within the organization. The primary responsibilities of this entry-level
  • role include handling and loading electronic data files, and verifying that the file process has completed successfully.
Additional responsibilities include monitoring IT ticketing system, ensuring each request is logged appropriately, and basic troubleshooting has already been completed. In addition, this person will handle, password lockouts, as well as any other IT support ticket that can be resolved in a short amount of time (1 hr). Will assist with other IT department tasks and maintenance.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a help desk technician or other customer support role preferred.
  • Tech savvy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, office automation products, databases and desktop administration.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to foresee possible issues and troubleshoot them proactively.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks, prioritizing and organizing these tasks to maximize productivity.
  • Available to work after hours on call shift remotely (5:00 pm - 8:30 pm) periodically
  • Shift will be 5:30am-2:30pm Essential functions and responsibilities:
  • See that all reported issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.
  • Load electronic data files into the correct systems.
  • Verify data files have been properly loaded.
  • Troubleshoot files that did not complete properly.
  • Escalate data file errors to the next level.
  • Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions.

  • Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers.
  • Walk the customer through the problem-solving process.
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel.
  • Provide accurate information on IT products or services.
  • Record events and problems and their resolution in logs.
  • Follow-up and update customer status and information.
  • Pass on any feedback or suggestions by customers to the appropriate internal team.
  • Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures.
