Job Description

Our customers (usually senior citizens/elderly) have trouble using the computer and technology. You will be required to go out to their home and help them with their technology needs. This can range from setting up wifi and getting them connected to internet, to using their phone, to resetting an email password, or removing a virus from a computer. We are looking for someone with skills with basic consumer devices and operating systems (windows, mac, iphone, android), and also technical know-how in other basic domains that are expected in field (setting up home printer, troubleshooting home wifi router, ect). You will be given a schedule at the start of week or start of day with our customers that you have to see and visit to help. You will be required to go out to the home of our customer. You HAVE to have a friendly vibe. You cannot be mean or condescending, as our customers can tell if you think that they are dumb or bad with technology. You must a friendly tech helper for them. Sometimes they do not understand something, and you will have to reexplain something or rephrase something, and you have to have alot of patience. If you are a mean person, unfriendly, do not apply regardless of your technical skills. Our customers appreciate much more the fact that we are amicable and friendly towards them, that we feel like a neighbor, that we literally our their tech friend, and that we are patient and understanding, than just merely fixing their technical issue. Sometimes you'll have to be like a teacher to teach them how to use their device or technology. You will start off with being part time for the first couple of weeks. And then as you get more clients and your schedule starts to fill, it will become full time and you will get paid for full time 40 hours/week. You must be in Fairfield County area, or general Connecticut area.
Pay:
