Role Overview The Project Support Engineer (PSE) serves as the project subject matter expert responsible for understanding project deliverables, developing procedures, and creating detailed project plans that support successful execution. In this role, the PSE supports multiple projects simultaneously by providing organized turnover documentation, planning support, site assessments, procedure development, and schedule development throughout the project lifecycle. The position also provides technical guidance, recommendations, and expertise based on prior experience to help ensure successful project execution and achievement of project objectives. Key Responsibilities Understand contract requirements and deliverables. Develop detailed project plans for outage and service activities including open, inspection, repair, and close activities. Assist with scope breakdown, work breakdown structures (WBS), cost estimates, scheduling, and resource planning. Integrate mechanical, electrical, I&C, civil, and other disciplines into project execution plans. Travel to customer sites to support outage planning, site walk-downs, and project preparation. Review engineering drawings, bills of material, design changes, and modification packages for completeness. Coordinate suppliers, subcontractors, tooling, consumables, contingency parts, and planned materials. Track procurement activities and ensure timely delivery of materials required for outages. Support resolution of technical issues with engineering and service teams. Provide schedule, task, and project progress updates to project leadership. Support change order evaluation and incorporation into project plans and schedules. Capture lessons learned, identify risks, and recommend process improvements. Support work package development and provide recommendations for design and execution improvements. Maintain work orders, job packages, ISO compliance, safety compliance, confidentiality, and positive team collaboration. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university with 3+ years of field experience, or a minimum of 6 years of related experience planning large power generation projects. Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and communicate technical information, procedures, reports, and business correspondence. Strong problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and reasoning capabilities. Ability to interpret technical drawings, diagrams, schedules, and engineering documentation. Proficiency with project management, database, spreadsheet, word processing, email, scheduling, and computer-aided design software. Ability to work effectively with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, management, and cross-functional teams. Ability to work in industrial environments and travel to customer sites as required.
