Job Description

We're looking for a hands-on IT Infrastructure Engineer to keep technology running smoothly at MOBIS Alabama, LLC - Savannah Plant (MSV). If you enjoy solving problems, like variety in your day, and want to see your work directly keep a manufacturing plant running, we'd like to hear from you.
Responsibilities Service Desk Leadership & Quality:
Set the standards for service desk and deskside support provided by our contracted IT Technician, and make sure work is accurate, secure, and handled by priority. Serve as the escalation point for tougher PC, hardware, software, printer, user access, and connectivity issues. Own and approve our Windows 11 PC image, in line with Microsoft best practices, MOBIS HQ guidelines, and security requirements. Make sure new hires are ready on day one, from accounts and hardware to applications, access, and orientation. Review tickets, asset records, and recurring issue trends to spot problems early and drive lasting fixes.
Infrastructure Operations:
Coordinate HAEA and vendor support for servers, storage, backup, virtualization, Microsoft 365, and endpoint management. Monitor system health, incidents, capacity, and lifecycle risks, and follow every issue through to closure. Plan and coordinate patching, backup checks, hardware replacements, relocations, and other changes under change control. Troubleshoot performance and availability issues across endpoints, servers, and the network, and lead root cause analysis.
Networking:
Support Cisco-based LAN/WAN and wireless operations, including switch ports, VLANs, IP addressing, DHCP/DNS, and physical connectivity. Keep network diagrams, device inventories, port and circuit records, and configuration backups up to date.
Security & Projects:
Apply company cybersecurity requirements and
MOBIS HQ
standards across networks, servers, endpoints, remote access, and Microsoft 365. Coordinate fixes for vulnerabilities and audit findings, and keep records ready for internal reviews, HQ requests, and audits. Coordinate infrastructure and security projects from requirements and testing through go-live and handover. Keep the IT Infrastructure Manager and stakeholders informed on project status, risks, and outages.
Documentation & Vendor Management:
Create and maintain SOPs, runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge-base content. Develop user orientation and IT training materials, and verify that training is delivered and completed. Manage vendor support cases, quotes, repairs, and deliveries, and confirm work is complete before closing it out. Provide oversight for IT purchasing, asset lifecycle, stock, and invoice tracking.
Qualifications Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. 2+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, networking, systems, or enterprise technical support in a corporate environment. Experience coordinating vendors, managed service providers, contractors, or technical work performed by others.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Working knowledge of enterprise networks, Windows endpoints and servers, virtualization, backup, storage, Microsoft 365, endpoint management, and cybersecurity controls.
Solid Cisco networking fundamentals:
switching, VLANs, IPv4 addressing and subnetting, DHCP, DNS, routing concepts, and wireless. Ability to set work standards, review others' technical work, and make sure gaps get fixed. Strong troubleshooting, documentation, project coordination, and written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize plant-impacting issues, work well across cultures and teams, and work independently on site.
Preferred Education & Experience:
Experience in automotive manufacturing or another high-availability plant environment. Hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls, VMware, Windows Server, Microsoft Intune/MECM, Microsoft Entra ID, and monitoring, backup, or endpoint security tools. Experience with infrastructure lifecycle planning, security remediation, audits, and formal change or incident management.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
Cisco CCST Networking, CCNA, or an equivalent Cisco certification is required, or must be obtained within a company-approved period after hire. CompTIA Network+ or Security+, Microsoft role-based, VMware, Palo Alto, or ITIL Foundation certification is preferred.
Working Conditions:
This position is primarily on-site in office, server room, and manufacturing plant environments. It may involve walking between buildings, occasionally lifting or moving IT equipment, after-hours support for planned changes or incidents, and limited travel based on business needs. Pay:
$60,000.00 - $62,400.00 per year
