STL Business and Technology Solutions is seeking an IT Field Technician to join our team. This is a full-time position based out of Bloomington, IL with daily travel to client sites in the area. RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide 1st-level support for end-users of school districts and small to medium-sized businesses in the Bloomington and Peoria, IL area. Collaborate with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution, including managing vendor relationships and contracts. Document procedures and best practices to support knowledge transfer and ensure system reliability and stability. Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools. Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions and work with developers to implement those fixes. Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies. Participate in the design of information and operational support systems. Travel to and from client sites to perform basic IT support with mileage reimbursement. Participate in a rotation-based on-call schedule to provide support outside of normal business hours.

REQUIREMENTS

Demonstrated aptitude and experience in end-user support for small to medium-sized businesses or educational institutions. Proven working experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting modern operating systems (Windows, Linux and Mac). Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMWare, Hyper-V, or KVM , Fortinet products, networking, ConnectWise (Manage, Control, Automate), or Microsoft 365 administration is a plus. Google Workspace administration experience is highly desirable. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization. #ILL2
