Reporting to the CIO/CTO, you will support county departments through systems administration, endpoint support, cloud and identity management, cybersecurity operations, and advanced end-user service. This is an opportunity to work across a broad hybrid environment—including Windows and Linux servers, Microsoft 365 and Azure, networking, communications, endpoints, backups, and security tools—and to make a visible impact on essential public services. What You'll Do Maintain and support county IT infrastructure, including servers, endpoints, cloud services, backups, storage, and business applications. Monitor system availability, performance, security, and recoverability; perform patching, troubleshooting, backup verification, recovery, and operational documentation. Administer Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, Entra ID, Intune, user accounts, licensing, Group Policy, role-based access, and multi-factor authentication. Assist with troubleshooting network and connectivity issues involving DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Wi-Fi, firewalls, VPNs, WANs, VoIP, and related services. Support cybersecurity operations through endpoint protection, EDR/MDR tools, vulnerability remediation, secure configurations, logging, email security, incident response, and network-segmentation practices. Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 technical support for workstations, mobile devices, printers, remote access, collaboration tools, conferencing, and business applications. Work with county employees, departments, vendors, and the CIO/CTO to prioritize requests, communicate progress, and resolve issues effectively. Support technology practices related to applicable security, privacy, records retention, and compliance requirements, including CJIS, HIPAA, and APRA. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Three or more years of progressively responsible experience in IT operations, systems administration, infrastructure support, or a related role in an enterprise or multi-site environment. Working knowledge of Windows Server, Linux administration, virtualization, backup and recovery, networking, endpoint support, and cloud or hybrid services. Experience providing professional, customer-focused technical support and documenting service requests and resolutions. Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with technical colleagues, end users, department leaders, and vendors. Valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 25 pounds. U.S. citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, Entra ID, Active Directory, cloud backup, SaaS platforms, or hybrid identity environments. Experience administering Linux server environments, including Ubuntu, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Rocky Linux, or Debian. Experience with EDR/MDR, vulnerability management, security monitoring, phishing defense, identity protection, incident response, or secure-access controls. Experience in government, public safety, healthcare, or another regulated environment. Familiarity with CJIS, HIPAA, public-records retention, or similar security and privacy requirements. Relevant certifications such as Security+, Network+, CySA+, Linux+, RHCSA, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, or comparable infrastructure and cybersecurity credentials. Work Environment and Schedule Onsite schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Occasional after-hours availability may be required for critical incidents, maintenance windows, or service interruptions.
