POSITION SUMMARY
IT Support Technician will assist the Director of Informatics and Technology in attending to the needs of other departments regarding equipment and software. This position includes the responsibility to uphold the mission, vision, and quality statements, as well as the core values set forth by Livingston Hospital.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES
Installing and configuring hardware and software components to ensure usability Troubleshooting hardware and software issues ( including the EMR ) Repairing or replacing damaged hardware Upgrading computer systems and software Performing tests and evaluations on new software and hardware Providing support to users Establishing good relationships with all departments and colleagues Maintaining technical documentation and updating tickets
OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties and tasks assigned by the Director of Informatics and Technology
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
(EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, ABILITIES): Must have a high regard for confidentiality Willingness to learn Ability to analyze and solve problems Knowledge in computer science is preferred Must possess good working knowledge of Microsoft products, including Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to carry 25-40 pounds (computer, printer, monitor, etc.). Must tolerate sitting for long periods of time. Requires walking around the hospital to other departments. May be subject to eye strain and repetitive motion due to computer work. May require bending, stooping, and climbing at times. Travel to offsite facilities or clinics as necessary.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Operates primarily within a fast-paced hospital office setting while maintaining full mobility to support clinical and off-site locations. This role requires regular transition from standard desk environments to active medical units, patient care areas, and offsite clinic locations. Technical duties demand adaptability, including navigating utility spaces like attics and crawlspaces to manage cabling, and strictly adhering to hospital infection control and safety protocols.
