- Description
- Summary/Objective The IT Support Specialist is responsible for supporting, monitoring, and repairing our hardware and software systems. This role is required to diagnose and repair problems, implement patches and upgrades, manage data security, and ensure that our systems are optimized and run efficiently. Essential Functions
- Install and configure computer hardware, software, peripherals, and related IT systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues; resolve or escalate issues as appropriate.
- Perform routine maintenance, updates, patching, firmware upgrades, and replacement of outdated equipment.
- Monitor and support security systems; install approved updates and follow established data security and access-control procedures.
- Provide timely technical support to employees and resolve day-to-day technical issues.
- Document incidents, resolutions, maintenance activities, and technical procedures.
- Create user-facing technical documentation and provide training on new systems, software, and equipment.
- Research technical solutions; coordinate implementation, testing, documentation, and user support.
- Manage and maintain company cellular devices and plans and coordinate with service providers as needed.
- Manage and maintain physical access-control systems and user access as assigned.
- Coordinate IT onboarding and offboarding, including equipment setup and collection and provisioning or deprovisioning of system, cellular, and access-control accounts.

- Hands-on experience supporting Windows and macOS environments and troubleshooting desktop hardware, software, and network or connectivity issues. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills across hardware, software, network, connectivity, and system issues.
- Working knowledge of Windows and macOS environments, desktops, cloud-based systems, networks, servers, security tools, and routine system maintenance.
- Proficiency with system updates, patching, firmware upgrades, performance tuning, debugging, testing, and routine hardware setup and maintenance.
- Strong written and verbal communication and customer-service skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to users with varying levels of technical knowledge.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, documentation, and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple requests and changing technical needs.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with employees, vendors, and service providers; demonstrates initiative, sound judgment, follow-through, and adaptability.
- Ability to follow established policies and procedures, identify practical process improvements, and implement approved solutions.
- High level of discretion, integrity, and security awareness when handling confidential information, system access, and company data.
