Duties Help Serves as the principle advisor to the CIO and the Ste on the lest industry and technological projections as they pertain to Cyber Security / Informion Assurance for the network enclave infrastructure. Develops policies for organizion deployed throughout the headquarters. Duties include oversight of the Army IT Training Program of Record and accredition of all systems in-accordance-with (IAW) with all command, Army, and DoD security directives, policies and procedures. Ensures th all elements are in compliance with guidance concerning accredition of automed informion systems, risk management, control of computer viruses, and other similar issues. Ensures th a wide variety of security incidents are investiged and reported IAW with all command, Army, and DoD security directives, policies and procedures such as: computer viruses and sanition of highly classified informion from organizion. Directs, manages, and monitors a system of internal controls th ensure effective and approprie use of resources. Manage and lead the implemention of the RMF. Maintain and report Informion Systems (IS) and Plform IT (PIT) systems assessment and authorizion stus and issues in accordance with DoD Component guidance. Provide direction to the ISSO in accordance with DoD, Army and NGB directives. Coordine with the organizion's cyber security service provider to ensure issues affecting the organizion's overall security are addressed appropriely. Ensure th ISSOs are appointed in writing and provide oversight to ensure they are following established Cybersecurity policies and procedures. Monitor compliance with cybersecurity policy, as approprie, and review the results of such monitoring. Certify th Cybersecurity inspections, tests, and reviews are synchronized and coordined with affected parties and organizions. Valide implemention of IS security measures and procedures including reporting incidents to the AO and approprie reporting chains, and coordining system-level responses to unauthorized disclosures in accordance with DoD, Army, and NGB guidelines. Act as the primary cybersecurity technical advisor to the AODR for DoD IS and PIT systems under their purview. Ensure th Cybersecurity-reled events or configurion changes th may impact DoD IS and PIT systems authorizion or security posture are formally reported to the AO and other affected parties, such as IOs and stewards and AOs of interconnected DoD ISs. Participes in plans for acquisition and implemention of new equipment, including development of contract documention. Plans and schedules the installion of new or modified hardware, opering systems, and software applicions. Considers factors such as compibility, conversion or implemention costs, and impact on existing equipment. Directs testing of vendor-provided software. Advises staff on issues pertaining to opering systems and hardware stus. Provides executive leadership, guidance, and direction to ensure acquisition, development, and retention of a professional, highly capable workforce to accomplish assigned missions. Provides supervision in the daily operions for security activities for the enclave. Reviews and approves work plans to be accomplished by subordines; priorities and schedules for completion of work; sets broad objectives; monitors subordine employees' performance in providing IT services; reviews accomplishments; and takes approprie action of correction when deficiencies are noted. Gives advice, counsels, or instructs individual employees, on both work and administrive mters. Reviews and makes decisions on serious disciplinary actions involving employees and makes decisions on work problems presented by subordines. Inities recognition and disciplinary actions for personnel. Identifies and arranges for approprie training and development opportunities. Performs other duties as assigned.
