Job Description
The IT Support Engineer is responsible for delivering advanced technical support both onsite and remotely across client environments. This role acts as a primary technical resource for end users and infrastructure, taking ownership of issues from diagnosis through resolution. The position requires strong troubleshooting ability, client-facing communication skills, and the ability to support a wide range of technologies in a managed services environment.
Basic Functions:
Provide support for Microsoft 365, Windows operating systems, and line-of-business applications Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices Serve as an onsite technical resource for client environments, including installations, troubleshooting, and remediation Diagnose and resolve network issues including LAN/WAN connectivity, VLANs, firewalls, and wireless systems Support and maintain remote access technologies including VPN, RDP, and Citrix Assist with server support including Active Directory, file shares, and core infrastructure services Maintain accurate and up-to-date system and network documentation Communicate effectively with clients regarding issue status, resolutions, and recommendations
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Take ownership of service tickets from start to resolution with a focus on quality and efficiency Escalate issues when necessary, ensuring proper troubleshooting and documentation is completed Support onsite projects such as network upgrades, hardware deployments, and office buildouts Prioritize and manage workload in alignment with service level agreements (SLAs) Accurately track time, work performed, and resolutions within the ticketing system Contribute to process improvement, standardization, and best practices across client environments
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong understanding of Microsoft 365, Windows OS, and Active Directory Solid networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and firewall concepts Experience troubleshooting endpoint, network, and basic server issues Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and client-facing skills Ability to work independently onsite and manage multiple priorities Experience with RMM and PSA tools preferred Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline
Education and Experience:
Associate or bachelor's degree in IT or related field preferred 3+ years of IT support experience Experience supporting multiple client environments and working onsite
