IT SPECIALIST

(INFOSEC) Duties

• Serves as the principal advisor to the Director, Vulnerability Disclosure Program (VDP), and provides leadership to all phases of the organization's work.
• Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) on the management of crowd-sourced cybersecurity vulnerabilities.
• Develops and implements INFOSEC policies and solutions for VDP. Requirements Conditions of employment

• Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.
• Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
• Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement.
• Per DoD 8570.

01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties. A waiver of this six month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or

C3.2.4.3.

• Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position. Certification holders must ensure their certifications stay active; expired certifications must be renewed.
• Work may require travel away from the normal duty station on commercial aircraft up to 10% of the time.
• The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
• This position meets the administrative exemption criteria for the Fair Labor Standards Act (5 CFR 551.206).
• This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
• Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.

Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Information Technology (IT) Management Series, GS-2210 (Alternate A).

EXPERIENCE

Must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the following four competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, Problem Solving AND have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level (GS-13) or equivalent in other pay systems.

Specialized experience includes:

Directing strategic planning, policy development, program execution, and operational evaluations to achieve mission success while formulating cybersecurity resource initiatives that align with organizational priorities; managing complex project lifecycles and cross-functional teams to integrate advanced IT systems, resolve critical resource challenges, and analyze technical constraints within highly sensitive parameters; and designing strategic Enterprise Architecture frameworks that integrate modern infrastructure solutions while ensuring interoperability, communication interface compatibility, and standardized protocols.
