Job Description

IT Support Engineer (Level 3)
Location:
Auburn, Maine | Full-Time About Us Dirigo Technology is a growing Managed IT Services Provider delivering hands-on, relationship-driven support to small and mid-sized businesses and non-profits across New England and beyond. We pride ourselves on being responsive, personable, and deeply committed to solving real problems—not just tickets. We're looking for an experienced IT Support Engineer (L3) to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on both supporting users and designing solutions. You'll play a key part in managing escalations and implementing projects that keep our clients' technology running smoothly and securely. Key Responsibilities Handle Tier 2/3 support escalations for desktops, servers, networks, and cloud platforms Design, implement, and document solutions for client projects (e.g., migrations, deployments, upgrades) Install and configure hardware, software, and network devices Troubleshoot complex issues across a variety of environments (Windows, macOS, cloud, mobile) Support and manage IT infrastructure: Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure, firewalls, wireless networks Maintain and update documentation of client systems, processes, and solutions Monitor and manage firewall security (Fortinet/SonicWall) and endpoint protection tools Manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies Mentor junior support staff as needed Preferred Experience & Skills 5+ years in an IT support or systems engineering role, preferably in a client-facing or MSP environment Proficiency in Windows OS and macOS environments Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy Familiarity with Azure AD, Microsoft 365, and cloud administration Hands-on experience with firewalls (Fortinet, SonicWall), networking, and wireless access points Mobile Device Management (e.g., Intune, Apple Business Manager) Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills—comfortable solving complex, multi-layered issues Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical users
